Travelling to Newport News Via Richmond International Airport
The two closest airports are the Richmond International Airport (RIC) and the Norfolk International Airport (ORF). You must evaluate which one best fits your budget. ORF is about twenty-five miles away from the host hotels. However, airfare may be more expensive and ORF has a limited number of airlines.
RIC is about sixty-five miles away. However, it offers more flight options and, when flying in from DFW Airport, is about $100 cheaper. The cost to travel from Richmond to Newport News by Amtrak is currently from $14 (coach) to $37 (business class). The travel time is about 90 minutes. From RIC, take the bus or taxi to the Richmond Main Street Amtrak Station (RVM). Board the Amtrak Northeast Regional train to Newport News (NPN).
